We are a small Australian business aiming to promote sustainability – by providing advice on and access to high quality reusable and recycled products that help to reduce our impact on the planet. Whether it’s while you are out shopping, what you use around the home, or what goes into building your home, we want to give you some ideas that have less of an impact on the planet’s natural resources.
We opened our online store in August 2017 after deciding to take the leap into the online world, with the aim of raising awareness about waste and what goes into making everyday products. We are passionate about making a difference and feel this is a way to find fulfillment beyond our 9-5 jobs.
We want to help leave the environment in a better condition for our kids to enjoy into the future. Everything we do has an impact, but each one of us can do our bit to make a difference. We want to help you make choices that are positive for the environment.
By reducing the use of single use products and recycling items, and being more conscious of where we source products, we can help the environment. That’s what we are here for and we hope you find some useful advice and reuse solutions on this site.
Why ‘green bandicoot’?
Bandicoots are an Australian marsupial and they’re pretty damn cute! Bandicoots are endangered for a number of reasons and as an Australian company on a mission to reduce our impact on the environment and look after these little critters, we think the bandicoot perfectly represents our values. By looking after our environment we can make sure there is enough habitat for them to survive. One piece of plastic at a time.
The colour green is synonymous with nature, and that is what we are trying to protect. In Australia we are incredibly lucky to have parks and conservation areas with amazing wildlife. Living in Adelaide, South Australia, we have many national parks right on our doorstep. For me, there is nothing better than getting back to nature on a hike surrounded by trees, just the sound of birds and the clean fresh air. This is what we love and this is why we have embarked on this venture!
